Criminal Bar Outreach
The Criminal Bar Outreach Committee will be taking on five projects this year to engage the Criminal Bar with HYLA in order to provide contacts and resources to young attorneys practicing, or interested in practicing, criminal law.

INTERESTED IN CRIMINAL LAW? NOT SURE WHERE TO START OR HOW TO DO IT? COME LISTEN TO JUDGES AND EXPERIENCED ATTORNEYS TELL YOU THE HOW, WHERE AND WHAT TO PRACTICING CRIMINAL LAW IN HOUSTON.
A criminal court can be an intimidating place for a young attorney. The Criminal Bar Outreach Committee of HYLA will host the first in a series of luncheons designed to introduce judges and senior members of the criminal bar with HYLA members interested in developing a criminal practice. The panel of judges will answer questions regarding the likes and dislikes of both County Criminal Court and District Court judges, along with offering some helpful advice for practicing in their respective courts. Senior members of the criminal bar will also be present to answer questions from an attorney's viewpoint. The luncheons will be a great way to establish contacts and introduce yourself to judges. Special thanks to John Burns of Burns Bail Bonds for sponsoring the luncheons.
