Who Can Join HYLA?

Lawyers, law students, and those waiting for their bar results are eligible to join Houston Young Lawyers Association.

Regular membership is available to any person who is licensed to practice law in the United States and is (A) 36 years of age or under on June 1 of the membership year for which membership is sought or (B) a new lawyer who was licensed to practice law in the United States within 60 months prior to June 1 of the membership year for which membership is sought. Regular Membership is $75. HYLA offers a discounted rate of $55 for Government and Non-profit membership.

Associate membership is available to any person who is not licensed to practice law and is a student or graduate of an accredited school of law. Associate membership is $25.

Sustaining membership is available to any person who is licensed to practice law in the United States, is over 36 years of age, and has been licensed to practice law in the United States for more than 60 months prior to June 1 of the membership year for which membership is sought. Sustaining membership is $75.

Vendor membership is available to individuals who are not lawyers upon a majority vote of the Board of Directors. Vendor membership is $250.

The HYLA membership year is June 1 through May 31.
