EXPECTATIONS, ESTIMATED TIME COMMITMENTS, & DUTIES:
Officers and directors serve for a one-year term, running from June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019. To kick-off the year, the Board attends an in-town retreat typically on a Saturday in June and then hosts a get together that evening to get to know each other better. For the regular monthly meetings, the Board meets typically on the third or fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. It is the duty and responsibility of each officer and director to attend all regular meetings of the Board. Attendance at all meetings is required in person, except that a Board member may attend up to one meeting per bar year by telephone. Any officer or director who accumulates a total of three (3) absences from any regular or special meetings during his or her term of office shall automatically be removed from office.
Board members are asked to contribute to a HYLA committee and to help spread the word about HYLA. In addition, HYLA Board members are strongly encouraged to attend other HYLA events and projects throughout the year.
