Associate Trial Attorney Job Description

Job Summary:

Fast-growing personal injury law firm seeking an Associate Trial Attorney with 1-2 years personal injury trial experience. The primary role is to manage a litigation caseload, working cases from pre-litigation demands to filing to conclusion of the case. This will include researching, writing, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation. This role is designed to grow based on the organization and drive of the Associate Trial Attorney. This is a remote position (except in person client meetings, depositions, or court hearings).

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and writing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • High level of experience, comfort, and ability with technology.
  • Extensive discovery and trial work required. Must have a fundamental knowledge of how to draft pleadings, conduct civil discovery, depositions, mediations, develop case strategy, trial preparations and trials.
  • Ability to interpret and apply constitutional provisions, statutes, administrative regulations, court decisions, and other precedents.
  • Ability to analyze facts, evidence, and legal instruments.
  • Ability to express conclusions and arguments clearly and logically in oral and written form.
  • Admitted to practice in Federal Courts preferred.
  • Communicate with clients to learn about their legal needs and concerns and provide advice.
  • Work on personal injury cases to secure compensation on behalf of clients.
  • Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost effectively for clients.
  • Explain legal options to clients while bringing possible outcomes to their attention.
  • Build relationships with clients based on trusts.
  • Represent clients in civil litigation proceedings.
  • Prepare legal documents such as motions, subpoenas, responses and demands accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about current legislation.
  • Find ethical solutions to legal matters.
  • Work independently or collaboratively with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies

Education and Experience:

  • Juris doctor.
  • Member, in good standing, of the Texas Bar.
  • 0-2 years personal injury experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
