Are you an experienced civil litigation attorney or paralegal with a passion for teaching and developing others?

Extended Education Ventures (EEV) at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking licensed civil litigation attorneys or certified paralegal instructors to teach professional, short-courses, and custom training programs.

Instructors deliver high-quality learning experiences that combine industry best practices with practical legal knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies needed to begin a successful paralegal career in the legal field.

Courses in the Paralegal Certificate Program include: • Essential Skills for Paralegals • Texas Civil Procedure • Contract Law • Tort Law This is a contract-based instructional opportunity with flexible engagement options across public programs and custom client engagements.

About Us Extended Education Ventures connects individuals and organizations with UT Austin’s academic excellence and industry-experienced instructors to deliver non-credit professional education programs.

Our offerings include open-enrollment introductions and certificates, as well as customized workforce training for corporate, private, government, and nonprofit clients.

Paralegal Certificate Programs teach highly sought-after paralegal skills while building a strong foundation in legal principles, ethics, and professional practice.

Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking experienced civil litigation attorneys or certified paralegals who:

• Have extensive, real-world civil litigation experience

• Enjoy engaging adult learners through interactive and applied learning methods

• Can tailor content to meet the needs of diverse organizations and teams

• Are comfortable teaching both conceptual frameworks and practical tools

• Have experience in professional education, corporate training, or executive education Qualifications

• Attorneys licensed in the state of Texas or Paralegals with certification through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization or National Association of Legal Assistants • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of civil litigation experience • Demonstrated instructional or facilitation experience with adult learners • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

• Ability to adapt content for open-enrollment and custom training audiences Duration This is a contract-based instructional opportunity. Teaching assignments may be short-term or multi-session and offered throughout the year based on program demand. Instruction may be delivered in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format.
